I am a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. I joined the department in 2002 after earning my PhD from Rice University. My research lies at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud and mobile computing, and applied AI, with contributions in system virtualization, edge computing, indoor localization, and mobile security. My work has had impact in both academia and industry, including the commercialization of research on virtual machine elasticity.

Since 2022, I also serve as the Chair of the Department of Computer Science.
